Hello, and welcome to another episode of As The World Turns . . .

The Yaoi/Shonen Ai Explanation

Welcome to our wonderful page o' explanations! Yatta! Okay, so you came to find out just what we're talking about when we say this site has Yaoi and Shonen Ai content. Let's put it this way - homophobes, please leave the building as soon as possible. Our site actually also contains normal stuff and het (an abbreviation of heterosexual{boy/girl}) but we like yaoi and we like shonen ai, and we ain't giving it up for nobody. Well, me at least. *yawn* I shouldn't be writing about this at one in the morning. . . Well, here's my definition of yaoi for you. . .

Yaoi - is the acronym of yama-nashi ochi-nashi imi-nashi, meaning something along the lines of "without content, without climax, without conclusion" (not neccessarily in that order - I don't quite remember the exact translation) Basically, it's guy/guy action. Yay bishonen! Yaoi is generally stuff like sex, relationships, stuff like that. Much of yaoi contains lemon, the fic term for . . . SEX!! Uh, not for the fainthearted, although really, it's not that bad.

Shonen-Ai - quite literally "boy love", it's generally sweet and mushy . . . I likes it! Mostly shonen ai doesn't go beyond limey stuff, like kissing, and mostly it centers around the relationship, or so I've been told. When they talk about boy love, they mean it . . . the people in the relationship are usually boys in their teens. Therefore no hard core. Get it? Got it? Good!
